Starting Dec. 5, 2022, the Constellation Managed PortfoliosTM digital tool will connect directly to Investment Centre to automate account set-up for all individual and joint mutual fund accounts and segregated fund policies. This enhancement means:

  1. New Canada Life clients investing in Constellation – New client information that’s entered by you in the Constellation tool will automatically transfer from the tool into Investment Centre only when electronic signature (in person or by email) is selected through the digital onboarding process. This doesn’t apply if wet signature is selected as a method of signing.
  2. Existing Canada Life clients investing in Constellation – Existing client information can be retrieved from Investment Centre and automatically transferred into the Constellation tool.
  3. Automatic account set-up – Whether it’s for a new or existing Canada Life client, you will no longer need to manually set up accounts in Investment Centre for individual and joint accounts if going through the electronic signature process. This functionality will automatically set up the accounts in Investment Centre during the DocuSign process.
  4. Automated first purchase instructions – The Constellation tool will automatically send Investment Centre first purchase instructions into the Money Market Fund. This alleviates you from manually placing the first purchase (if source of funds is from electronic fund transfer (EFT) and/or cheque). The forms must be signed by you through DocuSign within 48 hours after clients have signed, and the entire DocuSign process must be completed within seven days. Otherwise, the first purchase won’t be placed by the system, and you’ll have to do it manually in Investment Centre.
